I feel like the girl with the glasses and braces and carefully adorned clothing that matches almost exactly the pattern on the wall. Invisible. Covert. Deceptive. The wall-flower, right? The only problem is, I'm trying with all of my might to clash with that wall, and to jump up and say "look at me, here I am!"

I bet you're wondering what I'm talking about, but those who really know me know that I could only be talking about my art. It is so incredibly discouraging to see myself improving, to see my style and talent shoot up, but to continually watch myself pass right through the "New Deviations" list without a single glance. It's like there is a major flaw, and only I am unable to see it, and no one else will tell me what it is. I want to be discovered, that is what I've been aiming for since I joined deviantART 2 years ago. After 2 years, most people have tens of thousands of page views, many fans, many people who religiously favorite and comment their pictures. I can't even get the people who LOVE me and know me to comment and favorite my pictures regularly. I know how stupid and unimportant this sounds, but of all the things I need to be reassured of, this is it. This is the one that breaks me down every time I log on.
